remediation and decommissioning

Although Aurora was principally set up as a RPA consultancy business, over the past two years the Company has carried out a significant number of remediation and decommissioning contracts which have followed on naturally from our surveying and characterisation work.

Our approach for a remediation and decommissioning project would generally follow on from a desk study and comprehensive survey and building characterisation work. Decommissioning may involve building a number of containment structures and removing contaminated materials using a variety of techniques (including mechanical, chemical stripping and scabbling). The waste arisings would then be sampled to ensure the most appropriate waste stream was used for each material (materials removed may be sentenced as uncontaminated, exempt, very low or low level waste, or in some cases as intermediate level waste).

Through our partners we can offer a one stop shop for your remediation and decommissioning needs from initial survey up to and including partial or total building demolition.
